. 2 days agoBuilt by Airbus the MEASAT-3d satellite is 57th satellite based on the E3000 satellite platform. Through this orbit the satellite will be able to service its primary area Asia and the Pacific. The operator hopes Measat-3d will restore its regional broadcasting capabilities at the 915 degrees East orbital slot and provide enhanced broadband service of up to 100 Mbps in areas with limited or without any terrestrial connectivity throughout Malaysia.
MEASAT-3d will complement MEASAT-3a and MEASAT-3b at 915 E hotslot which provides increased and excess capacity for Astros DTH services as well as broadcasting telecommunications and broadband internet services. MEASAT-3d is MEASATs fourth satellite to be launched by ArianeSpace since the launch of MEASAT-1 in 1996. It will be positioned in a geostationary orbit inclined at 915 degrees.
The satellite is designed to provide more than 18 years of operation with an electrical power of 12kW at end of life. Measat-3d is the 57th E3000 satellite built by Airbus and will be positioned at the 915 degrees east longtitude orbital slot and collocated with Measat-3b also built by Airbus. The MEASAT-3d satellite which costs RM12 billion will be the most comprehensive and complex satellite in MEASATs fleet yet.
